Once, a customer had an issue with a WYSIWYG platform, so they created a ticket where explicitly described the symptoms and even provided a video. I need to point out though, their general savviness is way above average which noticeably affects their requests and questions.
On the video, it is actually seen that moving or changing properties of an object is almost impossible: it takes about 10 clicks on the same spot until something happens. Doesn’t seem like an expected behavior, does it?
Apparently, not to everyone. Here’s the response that was sent to the customer:
Hello,
This behavior is not considered a software defect, it is caused by “accidental” mouse movement during object selection.
There are two ways to change object’s size:
- Click on the object. Input fields for size will appear;
- Click on the object with left mouse button and drag it to any side a little bit. A “resizing border” will appear.
Well, sure… One does not simply drag and move objects with the power of a mouse…
Type: Ticket handling
Score: Bad
Reason: I want to think that the author of this response didn’t believe in their own words and just bullshat the requestor inaccurately.
